Default nhs - private club

I work in the NHS (despeartely trying to leave) and have had a decent boss replaced by a power mad egomaniac. Our old boss left (without a job to go to) because he was too decent a bloke to put up with our crap management any longer. One member of our team saw his opportunity and started sucking up to the head of dept. while the rest of us where doing our job. Before you know it he is "acting " manager and inevitabely got the position when applied for.
He is now making decisions he hasn't got authority to make and generally mucking about anybody who stands up to him, such as refusing to sign mileage claim forms for silly reasons. We used to be an effective and happy team but have had morale sapped to a minimum. He is protected in his decisions by his boss who basically doesn't care what goes on as long as his afternoon sleep isn't disturbed. By the way they also engage with each other socially, which is very strange as there is a thirty year age gap and they are both male!
This is just to let you taxpayers know what you are paying for, I don't know how much work they do as most of their time is spent with personal politics but I'd be surprised if their combined salary is less than £100, 000.
Yes I do have a grudge and yes I detest these individuals as people, but it doesn't make it less true.

Default Corruption

I can relate to your situation.

I was being harrassed by a female colleague at work who was constantly rude and dispicable towards me. Eventually I reported her to HR and she threatened to make up lies about me saying they would believe her as she had worked there for over 20 years and I wasrelatively new.

They tried to fire me through a ludicrous OHS referral, and redployed me temporarily.

Now they are going to fire me for absolutely no reason. They say it's because it's not in "everyone's best interests that I go back to that post" but it's obvious that women wants me out and the two line managers have stuck together with her in their little clique and are finally going to get rid of me.

CORRUPTION.

There is no other word for it.

I can't go for unfair dismissal as I have been there under a year.

I absolutely despise all three of these people, and worst of all are the people who know I have done nothing wrong and have just stood by and LET it happen.

Shame on them.

You're damn right it's corruption. I hope they did not get rid of you, I'm sure the fact that I had only been at my place for 5 months was a motive to make it difficult for me to stay. That and also the fact that I was a band 4 up against a band 6. You should keep your transcripts from the meetings you've had with your managers about your situation. I went through mine and discovered the band 6 had contradicted herself in one of her statements after she accused me of swearing at her and that alone allowed me to bring a libel suit against her. They are so bent on putting you down and tell so many lies that they trip themselves up.
