View Full Version : Primary Care Trusts (PCT)
PCTs are trying to save money by reducing the duration for repeat prescription from 3 months to 28 days. Costing patients who pay for their prescriptin 3 times as much and taking patients independents away. Because if you need more medication you now need to go and see your GP. The losers are the patients, who have not been consulted about this change. I have complaint to my PCT, they either avoid the issue or not answer my letters. I am now taking thisfor an independent review. Has anyone had any experience with them? This is a national change and I wonder how many patients are unhappy about it?

Hi there,
The trusts are going bust, so are trying to get away with prescribing the minimum thus deflecting the costs of your medications to the GP- it is a game of snakes and ladders with NHS money, and the patients pick up a very small but annoying part of the cost.
I don't think writing a letter of complaint to the PCT will help much - it is political decision making but if it makes you feel better to let of a little steam..

But what can we expect when 1,500,000 signatures (or more) on a petition on an official Downing Street website are ignored.
