Mr Tim Briggs RNOH Orthopaedic surgeon has said he will not operate to remove the cancer in her sacrum as he might not get all of the cancer out so my daughter asked for a second opinion from her oncologist at UCL. That was 2 months ago, still had not heard. My daughter had another appointment yesterday at UCL, guess what? They had forgotten to send it and the doctor had gone on holiday but he had a nice holiday that makes us feel much better!

Just a last thought;
My daughter Has been misdiagnosed twice in the four years.

1) Thought the benign tumour was MS.
2) The benign tumour than turned into Cancer. RNOH missed it turning and going into her spine up to the L4, We did tell them something was wrong but they know best!

The second opinion is probably a waste of time.

On the 20/11/09 my daughter’s stand-in Oncologist (other one on maternity leave) read one paragraph from a letter from an Orthopaedic surgeon (the second opinion) who said that it was not worth an operation to remove the cancer as it would cause to much disability and they might not get all the cancer out.

We have waited since July to see him and then didn't see him?
Maybe my daughter is not worth a consultation?

The full letter to be sent to my daughter. (not received yet)?

Apart from being ill, you need an iron will to cope. As her mother I don't even think they know what she has to put up with, the Oncologist on maternity leave (not her fault at all)
broke her heart because my daughter wanted children badly but left it too late at 21.
Of course this is not what I would have wanted for her, education was important than and still is as is her life, but they still don't take eggs from young girls in UCH and you don't expect your child to get bone cancer.

You always hear of GPs not diagnosing cancer but the top orthopaedic hospital in the Country RNOH missed it and there is no come back on them because she had a benign tumour in her sacrum first and it changed into cancer and went up to her L4. The law is so unfair.

People like my daughter will be forgotten as will their pain and suffering.

I only know that Mr Briggs said he was gobsmacked to find out she had cancer, they never asked us what we thought?

I truly believe they messed up her chance of a chance for an operation, if that makes sense?
